SLAVNOST MAYFEST RETURNS THIS SUNDAY TO TCHCC

The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange invites the public to attend the annual Slavnost Mayfest this Sunday for a full day celebrating Czech heritage, music, food, and culture. Guests from the Czech Republic, including distinguished dignitaries, will join the festivities as the community gathers to honor the rich traditions and lasting legacy of Czech Americans in Texas.

Visitors will enjoy live music throughout the day featuring the internationally known Pardubická Muzika Orchestra along with local favorite Vintage Drafts Band. Traditional Czech foods, kolaches, and a catered meal will be available for guests attending the celebration.

The Czech Village at TCHCC will come alive with live demonstrations showcasing historic trades and traditions, including blacksmithing, newspaper printing, and sawmill operations. Guests will also have the opportunity to tour the Polka Lovers Club Museum and experience exhibits highlighting the vibrant history of Czech music and dance culture.

Inside the main museum, TCHCC will officially launch its new “250 Years of Czech American Legacy” exhibit, commemorating generations of Czech contributions to Texas and the United States. Visitors can also stop by the lobby to visit with Pavlova Catering and Bakery featuring Chef Pavlova and authentic Czech baked goods and specialties.

The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center welcomes families, heritage enthusiasts, and visitors from across the region to spend the day enjoying Czech culture, fellowship, music, and history during this year’s Slavnost Mayfest celebration.
