Čzeský Noviny Muzeum (Czech Newspaper Museum)

The Czech Newspaper Museum offers a captivating look at the role of print media in preserving Czech culture and language in Texas. Centered around the restored 1920’s Kluge printing press, this museum showcases how Czech-language newspapers connected immigrant communities and kept traditions alive.

A 1908 Fairbanks Morse 6 hp vertical gas engine is visible through the glass window belted to the line shaft to power the press. This particular engine was used to power the press for the Svoboda newspaper in downtown La Grange.

Visitors can explore the history of historic newspapers in Texas and tools used for printing that highlight the importance of the press in cultural preservation. The museum is a tribute to the power of the written word in sustaining identity and community across generations.
