Babouci, one of Europe’s oldest South Bohemian brass bands from Czechia, is coming to fill the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater with lively Czech dechovka on Sunday, April 12, 2026, and you’re invited to be part of this special evening of music and heritage in La Grange.

A rare Czech brass experience in La Grange

Straight from Czechia, Babouci is known for traditional South Bohemian brass music that keeps village dances and festivals alive across generations. Their program blends upbeat polkas, lyrical waltzes, and soulful folk melodies, creating that unmistakable Czech village-band sound that makes you want to tap your toes, sing along, and maybe even dance a little in the aisle.

This visit is part of a Texas tour bringing authentic Czech brass music to heritage audiences across the state, and La Grange will have the chance to experience it right here at the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center (TCHCC).

Sanford Schmid Amphitheater: “Muziky, Muziky”

The concert will take place at the Sanford Schmid Amphitheater on the La Grange Fairgrounds, just left of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center at 250 W. Fairgrounds Road. The open-air stage proudly bears the Czech saying “Muziky, Muziky,” a perfect welcome for an evening dedicated to live Czech brass music.

As the sun sets over the fairgrounds, families, friends, and music lovers can relax on the lawn, enjoy the spring breeze, and let Babouci’s horns, clarinets, and rhythm section carry them back to a Czech village square.
