Hospoda (Tavern) and General Store
The Hospoda and General Store building represents the bustling social and commercial heart of early Czech villages in Texas. While it currently stands within the Czech village on site, the interior is not open for public viewing at this time.
In its original role, the general store provided everyday necessities, and the hospoda, or tavern, served as a lively venue for music, dance, and socializing—together forming the vibrant center of village life and community bonds. In the future, this building will be relocated and thoughtfully repurposed as a schoolhouse, extending its role in preserving and interpreting Czech Texan heritage for visitors and future generations.
